follow your bliss

Hello!

Hi everyone!!  Just wanted hi to my new followers :)  I don’t post as often as I’d like to, but I do appreciate the follows, likes, and reblogs!

But because I have gotten an small influx of followers, I wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Karla & I’m a 24-year-old SLP student.  I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, worked as a Behavioral Therapist, & decided that I wanted to continue with my education and work toward a Master’s degree.  After some research, I came across Speech Language Pathology.  I saw that there were still quite a bit of pre-reqs that I didn’t take, so I decided to apply for a Post-Baccalaureate program to complete everything.  I’m currently in my first year of 2 years at the Post-Bac Communication Sciences/Disorders Certificate Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills.  I recently got hired to shadow Speech Language Specialists at a local school district with the plan of being placed in my own classroom after three months (if all goes well! crossing my fingers!).  I am also in the process of starting volunteer work at my local hospital in the inpatient rehabilitation ward.

I’m just like most of you — working hard to get where I want to be.  I love the SLP community and I want to let all of you aspiring SLPs know that I am always here for support!  Feel free to send me a message to introduce yourself as well :) Thanks again for the follow & I look forward to reading all of your posts!
